Speaker: Dr. Mohamed Abutaleb
Senior Fellow at Yaqeen Institute and former Dean at Boston Islamic Seminary. He transitioned from a successful technology leadership career to serve as Imam and Religious Director at a prominent Islamic center in the South. Dr. AbuTaleb has lectured at top universities, including Harvard and MIT, and co-founded Oaktree Institute and Muslim Link Newspaper.
He holds a Ph.D. and Master’s in Electrical Engineering from MIT, an Alimiyyah degree from Al-Salam Institute, and degrees in physics and mathematics from the University of Maryland. Known for his engaging teaching style, Dr. AbuTaleb promotes dialogue and understanding, integrating sacred and worldly sciences in his work.

Hasib Noor is the Founder, President, and teaches with The Legacy Institute, an education & research institution for Islamic studies. He is among the founders of Faith Global, a global Muslim platform for creating community spaces that provides welcoming spaces for connecting with relevant Islam & practical spirituality. Faith community spaces have been founded in London, Austin, Ottawa, New York City, & San Diego.
He hails from Afghan heritage, grew up in the US and studied at the College of Islamic Law in the University of Madinah. He pursued his studies in the City of the Prophet (peace be upon him for over a decade under the tutelage of over 50 scholars specializing in Figh, Fatwa, Hadith, Tafsir, History, Sirah and the Islamic Sciences.
He has affiliation with the Center for Historical Studies of Madinah, and is part of Taybah Research, The Society of Archaeology and Historical Sites of Madinah and serves as an Educational Consultant & Resident Scholar.

Yassir Fazaga is an inspiring, multi-lingual speaker sought-after from USA through Canada to the Middle and Far East.
He was born in Eritrea in Northeast Africa and moved to the United States at the age of 15; has a Bachelors Degree in Islamic Studies from the Institute of Islamic and Arabic Sciences in Virginia; and received a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the California State University of Long Beach.
Fazaga has served as the Religious Leader of Orange County Islamic Foundation (OCIF) in Mission Vieio, California. He was the Director of Mental Health Department at Access California Social Services Agency in Anaheim, where he helped families with different challenges in life which include: domestic violence issues, communication problems, marital matters, generational gap, difficult teens, some mental and personality disorders, divorce, grief, and single parenting, among others.

Speaker: Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans
Ustadh Ubaydullah Evans is ALIM’s first Scholar-in-Residence. He converted to Islam while in high school. Upon conversion, Ustadh Ubaydullah began studying some of the foundational books of Islam under the private tutelage of local scholars. Since then he has studied at Chicagoland’s Institute of Islamic Education (IIE), in Tarim, Yemen, and Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt, where he is the first African-American to graduate from its Shari’a program. Ustadh Ubaydullah also instructs with the Ta’leef Collective and the Inner-City Muslim Action Network (IMAN).

Speaker: Imam Imran Salha
Imam Imran Salha is a hafidh of the Qur’an and community leader who has served as an Imam at several institutions across America. He is of Palestinian origin, born and raised in NJ and took advantage of the scholars in his locality while growing up; with them he completed classical texts in various Islamic Sciences. Imran has led Taraweeh since he was 16 years old, is a first-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Civil Engineering at the University of Texas in Arlington. He is also continuing studies in Shafi’i Fiqh at an online institute - المدرسة الفقهية الشافعية. He hopes to serve the Deen of Allah by spreading the good word.

Shaykh Yasir Fahmy graduated from Rutgers Business School. After working for a number of years in finance, he then moved to Egypt where he studied for eight years at Al-Azhar University. In his time at Al-Azhar, he attained numerous ‘ijazas (independent certifications) and studied under many notable teachers including Shaykh Ahmad Taha Rayyan (may Allah have mercy on him). In 2013, Shaykh Yasir Fahmy became the first American Azhari to teach in the renowned Al-Azhar Mosque. Currently, Shaykh Yasir is the Religious Advisor at AlFalah Center in Bridgewater, NJ as well as the founder of the Prophetic Living Initiative.
